Does your pet need Veterinary Care? Veterinary care and healthcare services provided to animals are essential under the ODH Director’s Stay at Home Order. Allpets at Pickerington remains open and available to help. In order to ensure the health and safety of our staff and clients we have made some procedural changes at our hospital following the guidelines set forth in the ODH Stay at Home Order.
Social Distancing Requirements
In order to fully comply with social distancing requirements we have made the decision to designate our building as staff only and have closed our doors to the public. No clients are permitted access to the building. All appointments will be curbside check-in only. This means you should be prepared to remain safely in your vehicle and call us from the parking lot when you arrive. A technician will ask for a brief medical history over the phone and then come out to your vehicle, wearing a mask and gloves, to collect your pet. You should have your pet ready in a carrier or leashed in the car to reduce contact time between yourself and our staff. When the technician gets to your vehicle, they will place one of our sanitized leashes on your pet and then you can remove your leash. Please stay in your car as we examine your pet in the practice and the Doctor will give you a call once the exam is complete to discuss any findings and recommendations. Once the appointment is complete, a staff member will review the invoice with you and process your payment over the phone. The technician will bring your pet to you in the vehicle and at that point, you can replace your leash and we will remove ours. When you call us to schedule an appointment or medication pickup for your pet(s) and one of our helpful staff members will remind you of our protocols and provide you with any current updates on how to proceed.
Enhanced Environmental Cleaning
Employees are regularly washing hands for a minimum of 20 seconds with medical grade disinfectant soap and hand sanitizer is available at all stations within the building. All high touch surfaces within the clinic are disinfected multiple times each day and the clinic is comprehensively cleaned and disinfected (interior and exterior) each morning before the start of normal business hours. Employees have been instructed to follow social distancing guidelines and maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from each other when possible.
Employees exhibiting any symptoms potentially consistent with COVID-19 infection are instructed to stay home and are automatically placed on sick leave for a minimum of 7 days. Employees who have had a fever are only permitted to return to work following a minimum of 72 hours of continuous normal body temperature and complete resolution of symptoms. All employees are required to self assess daily and report immediately fever or other symptoms.
